About buyworld.app
buyworld.app is a multiplayer game played on a map of the real world. Every building, park and plot of land on Earth is on the map, and you can buy them with play money. Your buildings earn rent every second, you trade them with other players, and the biggest owners become mayors, presidents and leaders of coalitions. It runs in your browser on a computer or a phone, with nothing to install.
Everything in the game is virtual: coins, buildings and land have no real-world value, and owning the Eiffel Tower in buyworld.app gives you no rights to the real one.
How to play
1. Pick your first building
Fly to any city with the search bar, zoom in to street level and tap a building. Its panel shows its price, the rent it earns per hour and who owns it. Unowned buildings can be bought straight away; the price depends on the building's floor area and where it stands. You start with enough coins for a modest first purchase, so a small house near home is a good beginning.
2. Earn rent
Every building you own pays rent, counted by the second and shown next to your cash at the top of the screen. Rent grows with the building's size and value. Owning many buildings comes with administrative costs, so a portfolio of well-chosen buildings beats a long list of cheap ones. Tenants sometimes come to you with requests, like a broken lift or a party next door; answering them well keeps the rent coming.
3. Upgrade
Upgrades raise a building's rent and value, up to level 5. Upgraded buildings wear a gold star on the map, and fully upgraded ones shimmer, so everyone can see your best properties.
4. Trade with other players
The auction house lists buildings for sale at a fixed price or at auction. Bid on lots, put your own buildings up for sale, or send an offer for a building another player owns. Market prices move over the day, and the newspaper at the top reports the biggest sales, renovations and world events.
5. Run airports, ports and spaceports
The world's airports, sea ports and spaceports are for sale too, each bought whole. Open trade routes with other players' hubs: planes and ships then travel the route on the map, at real speed, and pay both owners when they arrive. Ships passing the Suez or Panama canals pay a toll to the mayors there. From a spaceport you can launch satellites that pay every hour in orbit, or probes to the Moon, Mars and beyond.
6. Become mayor, president or leader
Whoever owns the most floor space in a city is its mayor, and the biggest owner in a country is its leader. Elections are held every day at midnight, Paris time. Mayors earn from what happens in their city. Join or found a coalition with other players to pool your buildings and climb the rankings together.
7. Come back every day
An hourly chest, a daily reward card with a big chest on day 7, quests and pins scattered on the map all give coins and boosts. Your money charts show how your rent, costs and net worth change over time.
Rules in short
- Play money only: coins can't be cashed out or sold outside the game.
- Some places can't be bought, such as churches, Vatican City and Lourdes.
- Each player can own up to 5 airports, 5 ports and 1 spaceport.
- One player per person. Cheating, exploiting bugs or automating play can get an account reset or suspended. See the Terms of Service.
